Evangeline ”Lynn” Hopkins, Associate AIA
After she received her bachelor’s of fine arts degree, Lynn Hopkins served in the Peace Corps in Sierra Leone, West Africa, where she taught art at the Government Model Middle School. Upon her return to the United States, she went back to the restaurant business in which she had spent many summers working, not only in her family’s wholesale food business but also in nearby restaurants. It was in one of them that Lynn met newly graduated Executive Chef Richard Hopkins.
Lynn Hopkins co-founded Hopkins Foodservice Specialists, Inc., with Richard in 1976 and has since established the firm as a national leader in food service planning and design. As an expert on emergent trends, Lynn shows clients how their costly new food service facilities can profit by drawing maximum participation from an increasingly discriminating customer base.
Lynn Hopkins is an associate member and strong supporter of the American Institute of Architects. Through HOPKINS she has sponsored numerous AIA and American Architectural Foundation events, and is a member of the AIA Committee on the Environment. She is widely known for her newsletter, FYI, with its lively commentary on topics of interest to the architecture/engineering/construction community, and its whimsical inclusion of fine art and poetry. Lynn Hopkins’ unwavering quest for client satisfaction and the progress of the food service industry has defined her leadership style at Hopkins Foodservice Specialists, Inc.
